History of the Sundog Arts & Entertainment Faire
The Sundog Arts and Entertainment Faire is celebrating its thirty third year as Saskatchewan's premiere handcraft festival. Here on this page you will find a brief history of the Sundog Arts and Entertainment Faire.
The first Sundog Arts and Entertainment Faire was held in the lower level of the Centennial Auditorium (now TCU Place) in 1974. The event grew in popularity every year and was moved to the Saskatoon Field House in 1983 to better accommodate the crowds and then in 1994 to Saskatchewan Place (now known as Credit Union Centre) after one year at the Titan Building. Held annually, on the first weekend in December, Sundog is pleased to host approximately 14,000 patrons during the three days of the Faire.
The board of directors is pleased to say that we have contracted to continue using Credit Union Centre as our Faire venue, both the members and public have let us know that this facility allows us to continue announcing that we are Saskatchewans Premier Showcase of Arts and Crafts.
